Our pick: the six best creative agencies in Los Angeles right now

Los Angeles is home to some of the most innovative and dynamic creative agencies in the world. Here's a look at some of what are, in our opinion, the best creative agencies in the city right now, each making waves in various industries through their unique approaches and exceptional work:

  1. Mouthwash Studio

Mouthwash is a studio breaking the mould. Their work for Nike, the architecture firm Mesura, and OEM shows that their influences stretch beyond the standard 'design studio' trends and aesthetics. Founded in 2019, they've quickly established themselves as a team of taste makers under the leadership of co-founders Alex Tan and Abraham Campillo. We especially love how organic and artful their work is, especially in their branding for mesura.

  1. Playlab

By this point iconic, Playlab (founded in 2009) is a studio that has created magnetic and stunning work most notably in physical space. Though not confined to installations and the third dimension, their design work for Madhappy's retail experience, Rimowa, and Vans has brought a playfulness, iconoclasm and vivacity that has established the studio as one of the most in-demand studios in the world.

  1. Our Life's Work

Though not strictly a creative studio, Our Life's Work have crafted elegant yet powerful digital experiences for brands such as Juno, Lapse and Elevate. A long time collaborator with Probably Not®, the studio has built a reputation for creating clean, modern sites and apps with a premium feel.

  1. Koto

Koto, founded in London, is a multidisciplinary studio that have firmly established themselves as leaders in the branding space. With offices in LA, NYC, London, Berlin and Sydney, their work for Fluz, Coinbase, and Bolt shows that Koto are in rarified air as a branding and creative agency that sets trends rather than follows them.

  1. Truffl

Truffl, founded by Raphael Farasat, are the studio brains behind brands such as Last Crumb, Better Bagel and Fat Milk. A creative studio and venture builder, Truffl is reimagining what consumer goods could be, creating brands fit for the new generation. Its work on Last Crumb is infamous; creating a viral cookie brand that continues to find Gen Z customers years on.

  1. Extra Olives

Extra Olives is a creative studio with flair. Their manifesto describes them as trend setters rather than trend followers, and their work for Granger Hotel, Bloomy and Sonic Power prove that to be true. Their work is playful and illustrative, making the branding they create engaging yet familiar.

Honorable Mention: Probably Not®

Of course, we can't write a rundown of our favourite creative studios without mentioning ourselves. Tongue-in-cheek as it might be, you can check out our work here.
